The Sunshine Blogger Award!

November 6, 2017

I'm super excited to share that the amazing Laura (you can find her over at https://laura-noakes.com), and Jenna (over at https://jenniely.com/) my fellow bloggers and #croneblogger's nominated me for the sunshine blogger award! It's another blogger centred nomination thread, crossed with a tag and The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring. Once nominated, the blogger is required to write a post in which they:

- Thank the blogger who nominated them and link back to their blog.

- Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated them (Laura nominated me first so I've answered her questions!).

- Nominate 11 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer.

Anyway, I had better get onto the questions I need to answer and you fellow reader, are more than welcome to answer those that I leave at the bottom of this entry. Be sure to send me your links if you participate!

Number One: Which of your books would you most like to get signed, and why?

I would love to have either Uprooted or the rest of my Laini Taylor collection signed. Unfortunately when I met Laini at YALC I was in the middle of moving to Wales so all but one of my copies of her novels were packed away in boxes. And I'd love to meet Naomi Novik just to tell her that she's one of the reasons I have such a vivid love for retellings. She's also one of the reasons I'm so invested in cultural folklore - she reminded me why I love Wales so much.

Number Two: If you could have lunch with your favourite fictional character, who would it be and why?

I'd love to take Amren (from ACOTAR) for dinner, though she only drinks blood so I guess we could like - get take out and be scary short people at home. I'd also love to meet everyone in Chameleon Moon. We would throw the most epic house party.

Number Three: What would be your favourite Hogwarts lesson?

I'd love to take Care of Magical Creatures or Herbology!

Number Four: If you could reverse the death of one character from any book, who would you save?

Ugh. There are so many people I'd bring back. I mean...if I had to pick one person I suppose I'd have to go with Fred because honestly I love him and George in the books of Harry Potter. They're so funny!

Number Five: Bookmarks or turning over the corners?

I do both, I'm not afraid of defacing my books - I'm not a collector and I like them looking well loved.

Number Six: Favourite childhood book?

I loved Where the Wild Things Are as a kid. I was also obsessed with historical fiction, so I loved the My Story series. Particularly The Great Plague. Super cheesy I know.

Number Seven: What’s one plot hole that really irritates you?

It's hard to think of one off the top of my head, but honestly anything with time travel tends to end messily. The inconsistency in how the time turners work between The Cursed Child and the other Harry Potter books irks me quite a bit.

Number Eight: A trope that you love?

Enemies to lovers always. Also scary characters that are actually secretly cinnamon rolls.

Number Nine: What’s your favourite bookish blog?

I don't actually have a favourite, but I will take this moment to direct you to Jenniley's post on all my fellow #croneblogger's you should follow them all. They're fab: https://jenniely.com/crone-bloggers/.

Number Ten: What book would you most like to become a movie?

I'd love to see Daughter of Smoke & Bone on screen. I think it'd make an amazing film.

That's what I have for you for this nomination! I'm really rubbish at nominating and tagging people, so feel free to answer the following questions if you're reading this yourself!

What's your most anticipated read of next year?

What Hogwarts house are you in, and if it's different to your actual house - what Hogwarts house do you want to be in the most and why?

Who is your favourite author?

What is your favourite diverse novel?

If you could change the end of one book, which would it be?

If you could delete one character from bookish history, who would you delete?

What is your least favourite book cover?

If you had to assign your favourite book characters colours; who would you give what and why?

What's your favourite book genre?

That's all I have for you this time. Thank you to the amazing Laura and Jenna for nominating me!

Briony
